Residential Solar Electric Systems
Austin Energy offers customers one of the country's best solar photovoltaic rebates, at $2.50 per watt (DC). This pays between 45% and 60% of the cost of installing a system. Residential customers can receive up to $50,000 from Austin Energy in rebates in $15,000 caps per year. This generous allowance allows up to 18 kW (6 kW per year) of solar energy production for your home - saving you up to $2500/year ($800+/year per 6 kW) in energy.

Commercial Solar Electric Systems
Because the solar demand in Austin has been so high, Austin Energy has curtailed it's commercial solar electric program while it studies ways to better serve commercial community with utility incentives. The new program rules will be published soon and commercial installations will resume in January 2010.
